Ekkehard Siegfried Koehn comes from a family of boat builders, doctors and artists and has been a proud Australian since 1986. Designing products since 1960 (he designed and built a prototype wind tunnel at Queensland University), Ekkehard created his first umbrella in 1989 and developed this into the Revolvashade™, a design for which he holds both the patent and the trademark.

Unfortunately his design has been widely - and illegally - imitated with cheap and inferior quality copies being manufactured in China and sold around the world. As these are illegal copies, their quality is often suspect and they can be quite dangerous due to inadequate manufacturing methods.

The genuine Revolvashade™, manufactured in Australia by Austshade Pty Ltd, is fully covered by warranty. Manufactured to a high specification, it is a safe product for outside use, even in high winds.
